AFRICAN POLITICS
AFRICAN POLITICS:WHICH IS THE WAYOUT
MAP OF AFRICA
Let me take my readers through the political happenings in Africa. Since the grant of independence to many African Countries, attention was greatly focussed on how opposition send packing, those on the position of power any where among the African Countries. This syndrome follows the mentality of first African Politicians whose interest was not the development of Africa, but the zeal and desire to send packing the Colonial masters who were seen then as occupying and preventing the indigenous African Politicians from enjoying and making use their father land resources. This they call Political and Economic emancipation. This mentality has been the backbone of the African politics since the era of independence. Today, many African Countries are faced with the tog of war between those in power and those seeking to take over the power irrespective of whether those in power in possession of power are performing or not. The idea is taking over the power, controlling economic resources for personal use of those in power. This they do through the award of gigantic wild elephant projects, only to be abandoned before the end of their respective tenures. This unhealthy situation in the African politics today made it difficult to conduct free and fair elections at all levels of governance within the African continent. This is also the reason why there is high rate of political crisis, increasing number of political killings and rampant cases of corrupt politicians and government officials accused of syphoning public funds. Today in Africa, killing human life is just like killing that of an ant.
Kenya post election violence
The African politics is dominated by political godfathering, money bag political clique who take money to give ticket for contesting various elective positions etc
These unhealthy happenings in the African politics is the reason behind the insecurity, unemployment, political vendetta, poor education, bad health care delivery, poor social welfare etc.

How ever, a little hope now seems to be emerging as Youth in most of the African Countries now seem to be getting up to the challenges of electoral malpractices to ensure free, fair and credible elections at all levels of Governance.
