PDP Senators Accuse Buhari of Bias in War Against Corruption

 The Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP Senate Caucus has accused President
Mohammadu Buhari of lack of transparent his
war against corruption.
The caucus accused him of targeting PDP
members as well as PDP States as if people from
his party are clean.
Briefing reporters at the National Assembly after
the day’s session, Senator Godswill Akpabio who
led other members of the caucus to brief the
media, asked Buhari to intervene in the alleged
harassment and intimidation of electoral officers
by Department of State Security, DSS.
Akpabio said that DSS had targeted Rivers, Akwa
Ibom and Abia States which are under the control
of PDP.
“We want to draw the attention of Mr President
that may likely cause breach of peace or that is
not in the overall interest of the country.
“PDP caucus is unhappy that the Party is
targeted in the anti corruption war which is
political and lack transparency.
“We condemned what is happening in Rivers,
Akwa Ibom and Abia States where electoral
officers are been harassed and intimidated.
“The situation where DSS is now involved in
electoral matters can spell doom for the country”,
he said.
The caucus also passed vote of confidence on the
National Working Committee of the PDP while it
called on staff who have been at loggerhead with
them to sheath their sword and stop externalising
issues.
The senators cautioned Buhari against selective
attention saying that he is the president of the
whole country and not those who voted for him.
