Murdered By Unknown Gunmen

Community, in Nkanu East Council Area of
Enugu state, has been thrown into anxiety,
following the gruesome murder of its
traditional ruler, Igwe P.A Onuoha, and three
others by unidentified armed men.
Confirming the ugly incident to AFRICAN
EXAMINER in Enugu, the state Police Public
Relations officer, (PPRO) Ebere Amarizu, said
“the Royal father and three others were
murdered by yet to be identified gunmen in
the early hours of Saturday”
While describing the development as
“unfortunate”, the Command Spokesman,
vowed that the police would not rest on its
oars, until perpetrators of the act were
brought to book.
Amarizu stressed: “the command is working
relentlessly to ensure that those behind the
alleged murder are unmasked and brought to
book”.
He disclosed that the perpetrators were
armed with gun and matchet during the
attack on the Mgbanaocha Nkerefi
community.
Amarizu gave names of the three other
victims to include, Ejike Udeme Uzor, Evelyn
Udeme Uzor, and Daniel Ogbu, adding that
they were inflicted with several matchet cuts
on their bodies as well as neck by their
attackers.
He hinted that the State Police Command has
commenced full scale investigations into the
incident, just as the dead bodies of the
deceased persons have been deposited at the
Eastern Nigeria medical center Enugu and
General Hospital Agbani respectively.
Following the incident, Our Correspondent
learnt that security had been beefed up in the
area, so as to avoid escalation of violence
and possible breakdown of law and order.r, 3 Others
