A suicide bomber has killed 14 people and
wounded 74 others in N’djamena, police
said.
The attack occurred on Saturday at about
8.30a.m. local time.

Reuters news agency reported that a man
dressed in a woman’s burqa blew himself
up in the market.
Chad blames Boko Haram, which has
carried out similar attacks in Chad and
Nigeria, where the jihadist group is based.
Witnesses said the bomber had tried to
enter the market wearing the burqa.
Chad banned the head-to-toe garment in
June, amid fears attackers could hide
weapons or explosives in it.
“The suicide bomber was a man disguised
as a woman (in a burqa). He tried to enter
the market when he was intercepted by
police,” Police spokesperson, Paul Manga,
was quoted by Reuters as saying. “That is
when he detonated the bomb.”
In June, two suicide attacks on police
locations in N’Djamena killed at least 34
people.
