Plateau Police Command Parades Son
For Killing Own Father Over Motorcycle
Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – The Plateau State
Police Command has paraded a young man
who allegedly killed his father for refusing to
buy him a motorcycle as promised.
The suspect was paraded Friday, by the
State’s Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki,
at the Police Headquarters in Jos, the State
Capital.
Oki said, “On the 2nd, June, 2015, at Doruwa
village in Shendam LGA, one Ponjue Domsing
killed his father, Mr. Domsing, as he opened
fire on him with a Dane gun, for refusing to
buy him motorcycle as earlier promised.
Ponjue who spoke to AFRICAN EXAMINER
confessed to have committed the crime.
“We had a fight with my father and it was in
the process I shot him and I was later told he
died. I regret my action” Ponjue bemoaned.
The State’s Police Commissioner informed
that investigation into the incident has been
completed and the suspect would soon
appear in court, when courts resume from the
ongoing strike.
Another case of culpable homicide in
Shendam LGA is the one involving Musa
Anambo, Bashir Yusuf, Yakubu Haruna and
others at large, who conspired and presented
themselves as members of a vigilante group,
tortured to death, one Musa Yusuf aged 24,
after arresting him for allegedly stealing
Turkey and Guinea fowl.
The Commissioner assured that investigation
was ongoing and the suspects would be
charged to court once the questioning was
concluded.
Other suspects were paraded for armed
robbery and car theft.
Oki assured citizens of the Command’s
commitment to flush out criminals and
identify their hideouts, while urging residents
to always corporate with security operatives
by providing useful information on criminals
and their hideouts.
