Unpaid 6 Months Salaries: Osun Workers Begin Strike Tuesday

Unpaid 6 Months Salaries: Osun Workers
Begin Strike Tuesday
By Ayo Balogun – Osun State public servants will
begin indefinite strike on Tuesday over the state
government’s inability to pay them six months
salaries.
The workers had issued 14-day ultimatum to the
government to pay them the six months salaries
being owed them.
Jacob Adekomi, Nigeria Labour Congress, Osun
State ordered civil servants to begin indefinite
strike tomorrow
According to him, an indefinite strike would begin
by all the workers in the State of Osun as from
Tuesday, May 26, 2015 due to the failure of the
government to accede to “our legitimate
demands, as contained in our letter to the
government dated May 12, 2015.”
He said the strike would be total, ordering the
workers to stay at home as from tomorrow.
“No worker should resume work until
announcement is made by the labour bodies to
that effect,” he said.
