Kano State Police Command has paraded two suspected armed robbers who confessed to have robbed Senator Kabiru Gaya and Zamfara State House of Assembly speaker of their vehicles and other valuables.

Briefing newsmen, Kano State

commissioner of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris, confirmed that

the command has in recent times, made arrests of

armed robbers and other criminals.

Speaking on behalf of the police

commissioner, the Police public Relation officer, ASP

Magaji Musa Majiya, stated that operatives attached to

SARS Kano, acted on a tip off and arrested one Bashir

Abdurrahman, aged 33 of Mariri quarters and an

indigene of Zamfara State, with a Mercedes Benz

4Matic model at Gandu Albasa area, saying on sighting

the police operatives, he attempted a hit and run which

failed before he finally got arrested.

According to him, on searching the vehicle, police

discovered an AK 47 rifle and military uniform in the

vehicle. The police spokesman noted that the arrest of

Bashir Abdurrahman led to the arrest of Aminu Ibrahim

Yakasai, a kingpin of the syndicate.

ASP Magaji confirmed to our reporter that the two

suspects confessed to have attacked and robbed

Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya and the speaker of their

vehicles and valuables.

The command also confirmed the arrest of thieves of

communication Gadgets, who were also found with

crane and a 20kv electric generator valued at

N700,000, a property of Etisalat Nigeria Plc located at

Zakirai Village in Gabasawa local government area of

Kano

State.

The command also paraded a fake National Youth

Service Corps (NYSC) member, Zaharadden Alhassan,

Dalhatu, an indegine of Kaduna State, who was

arrested at NYSC Orientation Camp along Kusalla Dam

Karaye Local Government Area of Kano. He was in

possession of a forged document for NYSC Batch A,
